Under a Bled Red Sky
This is the Church of the Assumption and is the most recognizable symbol of Lake Bled. It sits on the only real island in Slovenia formed from an Ice Age glacier hollow. Apparently archaeologists have discovered traces of prehistoric settlements on the island along with graves from the 9th century. The current church that you see here dates from the 17th century.
The beauty around Bled is astounding. I could not believe my luck to have this sunrise on my first day in Slovenia!
